Anouk Wolse was born in Alberta, Canada in 1986. She began her Fine Arts education on Vancouver Island and went on to study at Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia and Santa Reparata in Florence, Italy, before completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada.

 

Her work explores feelings of alienation and nostalgia and what representations of nature can reveal about human nature. Her compositions are purposefully ambiguous, with figures interacting with each other and their environment outside of a fixed time or place. Her work has been exhibited in Switzerland, Canada, Spain, the Netherlands, and Italy. She lives and works in Zürich.
